India, Sept. 15 -- Oracle has begun a fresh round of layoffs, with employees in India receiving termination notices, less than a week after the company raised its expected restructuring costs by about USD 700 million. The cuts began in the United States on September 14 and continued in India.

Product engineering teams have borne the brunt of the India cuts, while support and consulting functions have seen relatively fewer job losses, Moneycontrol reported, citing sources. The exact number of employees affected in India could not be independently confirmed.
