One dead, several injured after building collapse near Delhi's Saket metro station
India, May 31 -- A multi-storey commercial building collapsed in Delhi's Saidulajab area near Saket Metro Station on Saturday evening, leaving one person dead and several others injured.
Rescue teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Delhi Fire Services, Delhi Police, and other agencies launched a large-scale operation to search for people trapped under the debris.
Authorities said at least nine people were pulled out, while one victim, identified as 26-year-old Ravi, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
According to officials, the building housed coaching institutes, offices, cafes, and a student mess, with construction work reportedly underway on the upper floors.
