India, Aug. 24 -- Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Odisha on Monday under the influence of a low-pressure system, with eight locations recording more than 100 mm of rain in the 24 hours till 8.30 am, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The highest rainfall of 169.4 mm was recorded at Joda in Keonjhar district, followed by Papadahandi in Nabarangpur with 158.8 mm and Paikmal in Bargarh with 120 mm. Kusumi and Jashipur in Mayurbhanj, Jharigaon in Nabarangpur, and Telkoi and Champua in Keonjhar also recorded over 100 mm of rainfall.
