India, March 22 -- Iran on Saturday confirmed a joint US-Israel strike on a critical nuclear facility approximately 220 kilometers southeast of Tehran. The incident occurred at the Shahid Ahmadi Roshan uranium enrichment site near Natanz, according to Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation.
The organisation emphasised that there was no release of radioactive material and no immediate threat to nearby communities, according to an official statement carried by Iran's Tasnim news agency. Satellite imagery, however, shows damage to one of the facility's buildings.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that Iran had informed it of the attack.
