India, July 11 -- A 28-year-old man died after reportedly falling into a rainwater-filled roadside drain in Sector 58, Noida, while he was on his way to work, police said on Friday.

The deceased, Aryan, was a resident of Choda village in Sector 22, Noida.

Police said the incident took place around 9 am on Thursday. Aryan was walking to a factory in Sector 58 during heavy waterlogging caused by continuous rain.

Preliminary investigation found that Aryan was walking on concrete slabs placed over a roadside drain while the road was flooded. One of the slabs was reportedly unstable, causing him to fall into the drain.
