No survivors after Nigerian Air Force plane carrying 25 crashes in Ondo
India, Oct. 6 -- There were no survivors among the 25 people aboard a Nigerian Air Force plane that crashed in southern Nigeria's Ondo state, officials said Tuesday.
The ATR-42 aircraft was carrying 20 passengers and five crew members on a routine mission to Lagos, the country's economic hub, the air force said in a statement.
The plane disappeared from radar before it was later located near a naval base in the riverside town of Igbokoda in Ondo state, officials said.
The circumstances of the crash were not immediately clear.
Nigeria's Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo had earlier said the aircraft was carrying 32 people, but officials did not immediately explain the discrepancy between the two figures.
