India, June 9 -- NHPC celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with a series of environmental initiatives across its offices and project locations nationwide, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation.

The observance was led by Bhupender Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), NHPC, at the company's Corporate Office in Faridabad. Gupta inaugurated the celebrations by planting a sapling and launching a plantation drive as part of NHPC's nationwide campaign.
