India, Aug. 23 -- One newborn died and two others suffered burn injuries after a baby warmer caught fire inside the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Chhindwara District Hospital in the early hours of Saturday. The incident occurred around 2 am, when sparks from the filament of the warmer's heating unit reportedly triggered the fire while the three infants were inside the equipment. Hospital staff immediately responded to the fire and used firefighting equipment to bring the flames under control. The three affected newborns were taken out of the warmer and provided primary medical treatment before being referred to Jabalpur for specialised care.
