India, June 7 -- Nepal has expressed its desire to strengthen relations with India, stating that the two countries should move beyond excessive sensitivities and focus on building a more constructive and forward-looking partnership.

During recent discussions in New Delhi, Nepal's Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal emphasized that Kathmandu holds no historical grievances against India and is committed to fostering a "genuinely transformative" relationship with its closest neighbour.

Khanal highlighted the deep cultural, historical, and people-to-people connections shared by the two countries, describing the relationship as civilisational in nature.
