India, Aug. 27 -- More than 130 Indians, including pilgrims travelling for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, are missing and scores of others are stranded in Nepal after flash floods swept through parts of the country, disrupting communication and cutting off affected areas, officials said.

The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and several state governments have opened helplines to assist Indians stranded in Nepal and their families.

At least 59 of the affected Indians were pilgrims travelling for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, according to Samrat Tours and Travel. Details of several Indians remained unclear as communication links in the flood-hit areas were disrupted.
