India, June 23 -- Stand-up comedian Pranit More, comedian Madhur Virli and audience member Himanshu Jangra appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW) in connection with the controversy surrounding the viral "Rs 370 biryani" remark made during a comedy show in Gurugram.

According to sources, all 3 apologised during the hearing, but the NCW declined to accept their apology. NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar reportedly expressed serious concern over the nature of the remarks and their impact on women's dignity and safety.
