India, Aug. 16 -- Cadets of the 1 Assam Battalion NCC, Guwahati Group, took part in Independence Day ceremonial parades across Guwahati and Nalbari, displaying discipline and coordinated drill performances during the 80th Independence Day celebrations.

At the Central Parade Ground in Khanapara, Guwahati, NCC cadets participated in the main state-level parade. The 1 Assam Bn NCC Junior Wing Girls Band Contingent secured the first runners-up position. The trophy was presented by the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The St Francis De Sales School Brass Band, associated with the NCC, also performed at the venue. The band's coordinated musical presentation drew appreciation from the audience.
