India, July 31 -- Alert staff at the Sarai Kale Khan Namo Bharat station helped reunite a young child with his family after becoming suspicious of a woman accompanying the child, prompting intervention by security personnel and the police, the NCRTC said on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), the incident came to light when station staff noticed a woman carrying a crying child who appeared distressed.

A female staff member questioned the woman about her relationship with the child.

The woman claimed that the child was her son, but the child denied knowing her, following which the matter was immediately reported to the Station Controller.
