India, June 13 -- Expressing deep anguish and shock, Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang has strongly condemned the abduction and brutal killing of six innocent Zeliangrong Naga men in Manipur, terming the incident a "barbaric and senseless act of violence."

In an official statement issued on Friday, the Deputy Chief Minister demanded an immediate, thorough, and impartial investigation by competent authorities to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice without delay.

Describing the scale of cruelty inflicted on the victims, Zeliang said the nature of the killings had "shaken him to the core." He noted with immense grief that the men were slaughtered like animals, with parts of their bodies handed back to their families.
