Myanmar assures India its territory won't be used against New Delhi's security interests
India, June 1 -- Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing on Monday assured Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Myanmar's territory would not be allowed to be used for activities harmful to India's security interests. The assurance came during wide-ranging bilateral talks held in New Delhi aimed at strengthening cooperation in trade, defence, energy, border management and regional security.
The two leaders reviewed the full spectrum of India-Myanmar relations and discussed ways to deepen cooperation in sectors such as investment, healthcare, education, energy and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence. India also reiterated its support for Myanmar's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
