India, July 6 -- Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw reviewed the disruption of train services on the Mumbai-Pune Ghat section after heavy rainfall triggered landslides and boulders fell onto railway tracks. He directed officials to speed up restoration work and ensure train operations resume at the earliest.

Vaishnaw said teams from both Central Railway and Western Railway have been instructed to work together to restore services quickly despite forecasts of continued heavy rain. He added that railway personnel are fully prepared to handle the situation and minimise inconvenience to passengers.
