India, May 14 -- Western Railway has announced a major five-hour maintenance block at Mumbai's Dadar station, which is expected to affect thousands of late-night and early-morning commuters.

According to officials, the block will be in effect from Friday midnight to 5 am Saturday and has been planned to carry out urgent engineering and track maintenance work to ensure long-term passenger safety.

During this period, both Up and Down local train lines will be affected, with services between Mumbai Central and Mahim being diverted to fast lines. However, several trains are likely to be cancelled or delayed due to the maintenance work.
