India, June 1 -- A bizarre incident unfolded at the Bulandshahr court complex in Uttar Pradesh when a monkey snatched a bag containing nearly Rs.2 lakh and scattered currency notes from atop a tree, triggering chaos among people present.

The incident occurred when a man had arrived at the court premises to complete formalities related to a land registration. The cash, reportedly meant for purchasing stamp papers for a property transaction, was being carried by a colleague of an advocate when the monkey suddenly grabbed the bag and climbed a nearby neem tree.
