India, Sept. 3 -- Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Thursday approved Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's decision to drop Konda Surekha from the state Council of Ministers with immediate effect.

"On the advice of the Chief Minister of Telangana, the Governor of Telangana has dropped Konda Surekha, Minister from the Council of Ministers with immediate effect," the Lok Bhavan Press Communique said.

Earlier in the day, Revanth Reddy decided to remove Surekha from his Cabinet amid a political row over remarks made by her daughter Konda Sushmitha against the chief minister and other Congress leaders.
