India, June 28 -- The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has issued an advisory for Indian citizens planning to undertake the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through private tour operators, urging pilgrims to exercise caution and make informed decisions before booking their travel.

In the advisory, the MEA said the Government of India does not regulate or endorse private operators organising the pilgrimage. Pilgrims have been advised to verify the credentials of tour companies, carefully examine the terms and conditions of packages, and ensure that all travel documents, permits, insurance coverage and emergency arrangements are in place before departure.
