India, Aug. 15 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has granted final approval for equal pay to around 4,400 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) employed on a daily basis contract (DBC) in its Health Department. The move will raise eligible employees' salaries by nearly Rs 10,000 per month, Mayor Pravesh Wahi announced on the occasion of Independence Day.

Wahi described the decision as a significant Independence Day gift for MTS DBC employees, saying the need to extend equal pay benefits to this category of workers had existed for a long time. He said the approval came after the corporation completed various administrative, financial and legal formalities required to implement the decision.
