MCD Allocates Rs.48 Crore to Boost Garbage Collection and Sanitation Across Delhi Zones
India, May 4 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has approved an allocation of Rs. 48 crore to strengthen waste management and sanitation services across multiple zones in the city for the financial year 2026-27, according to an official order.
The directive, issued on April 27 and cleared by the MCD Commissioner, aims to improve garbage collection, lifting, and transportation through the deployment of additional vehicles, machinery, and manpower across various wards.
Under the plan, the West Zone will receive 50 light motor vehicles equipped with auto-tipping systems, along with 30 medium vehicles and backhoe loaders to enhance garbage removal operations.
