India, May 5 -- Panic gripped parts of Nainital after a massive boulder rolled down a hillside and crushed a parked car in the Tallital area, prompting authorities to evacuate around 25 families as a precaution.

The incident took place in the Krishnapur locality on Monday evening, where the large rock completely flattened the vehicle. Smaller debris from the slide also pushed a scooter and a motorcycle into a nearby gorge.

Officials confirmed that no casualties were reported, as no one was present at the site at the time. However, residents said the boulder narrowly missed several houses situated downhill.
