India, May 23 -- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi during his first official visit to India, with both leaders discussing ways to strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

Prime Minister Modi said the discussions focused on regional and global peace, security and continued cooperation between the two countries.

"We discussed sustained progress in the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and issues related to regional and global peace and security. India and the United States will continue to work closely for the global good," PM Modi said in a post on X.
