India, Sept. 30 -- A daily-wage labourer took his ailing mother in a wheelchair to a legislator's residence after alleging that a government hospital in Mancherial denied her treatment. The incident occurred late on Tuesday after the family sought care for a kidney-related illness.

Bhukya Raj Kumar had taken his 55-year-old mother from Pulimadugu village to the district government hospital after her condition worsened. He alleged that staff did not give her a bed or begin treatment despite repeated requests.

The family waited for about five hours before leaving the hospital. Raj Kumar then pushed the wheelchair along the road to the residence of Mancherial MLA K Premsagar Rao, reported media.
