Mamata Banerjee Alleges BJP 'Plan' as Party Trails in Bengal Election Results 2026
India, May 4 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party is executing a "plan" to influence perception as counting continues for the 2026 Assembly elections.
In her first public statement during vote counting, the All India Trinamool Congress chief claimed that the BJP was "showing their results first" while delaying or underreporting her party's performance.
"I had said earlier that they will show their results first and ours later. This is part of their plan," Banerjee said in a video message, urging party workers and counting agents not to leave counting centres.
