India, Aug. 26 -- War of words ensued between Suvendu Adhikari and Mamata Banerjee, with the latter wondering whether she had been kept under house arrest after the Bengal Chief Minister asked her to remain indoors instead of creating a nuisance for his Government.

In what the Trinamool Congress chief described as a "new low" in Indian politics, Banerjee alleged that Adhikari was "threatening me with house arrest," after the Chief Minister asked her to remain indoors.
