Maharashtra teacher, two children die after car plunges into Godavari; note alleges workplace harassment
India, July 17 -- A government school teacher and his two young children died after the car they were travelling in plunged into the Godavari River from a bridge in Maharashtra's Nanded district on Friday. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide after recovering a handwritten note in which the teacher allegedly blamed workplace harassment by senior officials for his decision.
According to investigators, the 42-year-old teacher drove the vehicle onto the bridge before it fell into the river. Rescue teams recovered the bodies of the teacher and his two children from the submerged car. The incident has shocked the local community and prompted a detailed police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
