Maharashtra: FDA seizes over 95 tonnes of food products, 172 litres of milk worth Rs 4.45 crore
India, Sept. 13 -- The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) seized more than 95 tonnes of food products and 172 litres of milk, collectively valued at about Rs 4.45 crore, across the State over the last two days, officials said on Saturday.
The FDA said in a statement that it carried out special inspections in Ahilyanagar, Pune, Nashik and Buldhana as part of its drive to ensure the availability of safe, hygienic and quality food during the upcoming festive season.
In Ahilyanagar, officials raided a cold storage facility and seized 75,368.8 kg of pasteurised cooking butter (unsalted), labelled "Madurama Creamy Delight", worth Rs 3.95 crore.
