India, May 21 -- The Madras High Court has sought a response from the Election Commission of India (ECI) on a petition alleging that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay and his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), used children during election campaigning to influence voters.

The plea requested an inquiry into whether election guidelines were violated during the campaign period.

According to the petition, references were made to a campaign event where children were allegedly encouraged to influence or persuade their parents regarding voting choices.
