India, May 16 -- A Lucknow University assistant professor has been arrested after a woman student accused him of harassment and offering leaked examination papers in exchange for personal favours.

The accused, identified as Paramjit Singh, was taken into custody after audio recordings submitted by the student allegedly revealed objectionable conversations related to leaked exam papers and repeated coercion to meet him before examinations.

According to the complaint, the B.Sc zoology student submitted multiple audio clips to the university administration. In the recordings, the professor can allegedly be heard pressuring the student to visit him while claiming to have arranged leaked question papers for her.
