LPG tanker 'Symi' reaches Kandla after crossing Strait of Hormuz
India, May 17 -- The Marshall Islands-flagged LPG tanker Symi has safely arrived at Gujarat's Kandla Port after successfully passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a highly important and strategically sensitive global shipping route. The journey comes at a time of rising tensions and security concerns in the Middle East.
The tanker was carrying nearly 20,000 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), including propane and butane, which are important for meeting India's energy requirements. According to officials, the vessel crossed the Strait of Hormuz on May 13 and reached Deendayal Port without facing any disruptions during its journey.
