India, July 9 -- Coinciding with the 10th anniversary of gunning down Burhan Wani, the poster boy of the pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist outfit, a joint team of the security forces on Wednesday tracked down a top-ranking commander of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) before neutralising him in the Chhanapora area of Shopian district.

The anti-terrorist operation was launched in the area on Saturday by the joint team of the Rashtriya Rifles unit, Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force soon after the suspected movement of two local terrorists of LeT came on the radar of the CCTV surveillance system in the area.
