India, July 16 -- Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to convene an all-party meeting before the government reintroduces the revised Delimitation Bill during the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament. Kharge said a proposal with far-reaching implications for India's federal structure and parliamentary representation should be discussed with all political parties before being tabled in Parliament.

In his letter, Kharge recalled that the Congress had earlier sought wider consultations on the issue and stressed that building political consensus is essential before moving ahead with any changes to constituency boundaries.
