India, Sept. 19 -- Keralam police will observe the fourth Saturday of every month as 'Appreciation Day' across all districts to recognise exemplary service by personnel and valuable contributions by members of the public.

The directive was issued by Law and Order ADGP P Vijayan to all district police chiefs, with the initiative aimed at boosting the morale of police personnel and encouraging greater public participation and cooperation in policing, a statement said on Saturday.

At functions to be held at district or unit headquarters, district police chiefs have been asked to identify and honour personnel who demonstrated outstanding service, exemplary conduct, investigation skills, bravery or dedication during the previous month.
