India, June 22 -- The Kerala Government has not yet decided whether to continue the Women Security Pension scheme introduced by the previous Left Democratic Front (LDF) government, Chief Minister V D Satheesan informed the Assembly on Monday.

Responding to a query from MLA O S Ambika, Satheesan said the scheme is not part of the state's social security pension programme and remains under review. He noted that the pension, which has not been disbursed for the past two months, was launched in February ahead of the Assembly elections by the previous government.

The scheme was designed to provide financial support to women from economically weaker sections, including transgender women, who were not covered by any other welfare programme.
