Karnataka Congress calls CLP meeting on Saturday after Siddaramaiah exit
India, May 29 -- The Karnataka Congress has convened a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting on Saturday amid the ongoing leadership transition in the state following the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The meeting is expected to formalise the next leadership arrangement and discuss the future course of the Congress government in Karnataka.
The development comes a day after Siddaramaiah stepped down from the Chief Minister's post following directions from the Congress high command. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar is widely expected to take over as the next Chief Minister as the party works to ensure a smooth transition and maintain unity within the organisation.
