Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar takes Metro to avoid traffic disruptions
India, June 7 -- Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar chose to travel by Bengaluru's Namma Metro on Sunday, saying he wanted to avoid causing inconvenience to the public through traffic restrictions usually imposed during VIP movements.
The Chief Minister boarded the metro while heading to Kanakapura as part of a gratitude tour to thank the people of his constituency.
Speaking to reporters, Shivakumar said that whenever a Chief Minister travels by road, traffic diversions and security arrangements can affect daily commuters.
By opting for the metro, he said he was able to travel for around 45 to 50 minutes without disrupting the lives of ordinary citizens.
