Karnataka: Woman jumps into Tunga river with 3 children, search on for 2 missing girls
India, Aug. 25 -- A woman allegedly jumped into the Tunga river along with her three children from a railway bridge here following a family dispute, with search operations underway for her two daughters who remain missing, police said on Tuesday, August 24.
The incident took place around 7.30 pm on Monday, police said.
The woman, identified as Bhavani from Hosur village in Chitradurga district, allegedly pushed her two daughters, aged six and four, into the river before jumping in with her 11-month-old son, according to police.
Local youths rescued Bhavani and her infant son from the river and they were admitted to a hospital. Both are reportedly stable, a senior police officer said.
The two girls, however, remain untraced.
