K'taka CM Shivakumar reviews drought preparedness in central Karnataka, assures no water shortage
India, July 25 -- Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Saturday reviewed drought preparedness in central Karnataka and assured that farmers and the public would not be allowed to face a shortage of water.
The government shifted its Bengaluru regional division-level development review meeting to Chitradurga to assess the worsening drought situation in the region. The meeting will also cover Tumakuru, Shivamogga and Davanagere districts.
Speaking during a road inspection of drought-affected areas in Chitradurga, Shivakumar said public representatives and officials had been brought together to discuss precautionary measures.
