India, May 1 -- Maulana Salman Azhar, a senior commander of the banned Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) was reportedly killed under suspicious circumstances on Wednesday after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in Bahawalpur, the group's operational hub.
Maulana Salman Azhar, also referred to in some reports as Maulana Muhammad Salman, was described by local sources as a top operative closely associated with JeM chief Masood Azhar. He was reportedly responsible for handling the outfit's finance and operational affairs at its headquarters in Bahawalpur, known as Markaz Subhanallah.
