India, Sept. 12 -- A contractual worker at Tata Steel's Tinplate Division died after coming under a hydraulic machine inside the company premises in Jamshedpur on Friday, police said.

The deceased was identified as 27-year-old Karan Kumar, a native of Saran in Bihar. He was employed by a private company and was working in the Mobile Elevated Work Platform unit when he came under the hydraulic machine, Golmuri police station officer-in-charge Sanjay Kumar said.

"The body has been kept at the MGM Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem and would be handed over to family members tomorrow," the officer said.
