India, May 4 -- The crew of the Iranian-flagged cargo vessel MV Touska has been evacuated to Pakistan after the ship was seized by the United States amid ongoing regional tensions.
According to Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 22 crew members were transferred as part of a "confidence-building measure" by Washington. The crew arrived in Pakistan on Sunday night and are set to be repatriated to Iran.
The vessel had reportedly been intercepted after it failed to comply with a US-imposed blockade on Iranian ports. The move comes against the backdrop of heightened tensions following the recent US-Iran conflict and fragile ceasefire arrangements in the region.
