India, March 31 -- An Iranian aircraft scheduled to fly to New Delhi to collect humanitarian supplies was damaged in airstrikes attributed to the United States and Israel, just days before its planned departure, according to diplomatic sources.

The aircraft, operated by Mahan Air, was set to depart from Mashhad and arrive in the Indian capital on Wednesday morning. Its mission was to transport medicines procured by the Iranian embassy in India using funds donated by Indian citizens during the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
