India, Aug. 26 -- Iran and Oman have agreed to work towards a phased arrangement for managing ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, as the strategically vital waterway remains largely closed nearly six months into the Iran war.

Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi met his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in Tehran on Tuesday to discuss a framework for restoring navigation through the narrow waterway, amid continued risks to commercial shipping.
