India, July 28 -- Indian shuttlers endured a disappointing outing in the Taipei Open Super 300 qualifiers on Tuesday, with only Rounak Chouhan progressing to the second round of the men's singles qualifying event.

Second-seeded Chouhan defeated Canada's Joshua Nguyen 21-15, 21-11 to set up a qualifying quarterfinal against Chinese Taipei's Kuan Lin Kuo.

The other Indian men's singles players exited in the opening round. Rithvik Sanjeevi lost 10-21, 11-21 to top seed Riki Takei of Japan, while Sankar Subramanian was beaten 17-21, 10-21 by USA's Garret Tan.

Tushar Suveer also bowed out after a 19-21, 21-16, 12-21 loss to Kuan Lin Kuo.

In women's singles, fourth-seeded Aakarshi Kashyap lost 15-21, 19-21 to Malaysia's Kisona Selvaduray. ...
