India, Aug. 11 -- The number of Indian institutions finding place in the QS World University Rankings has increased from 11 in QS WUR 2015 to 52 in QS WUR 2027 since the launch of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), the Lok Sabha was informed on Monday.

In a written reply, Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar said the NIRF was launched in 2015 by the Centre for the annual ranking of institutions and universities of higher education in the country - India Rankings - to promote healthy competition among educational institutes and universities.
