Indian Army spearheads Assam flood rescue operations
India, July 1 -- In a swift and coordinated humanitarian effort, the Indian Army has stepped in to mitigate the crisis arising out of the worsening flood situation in Assam. Troops of the Spear Head Division, operating under the Spear Corps, actively joined hands with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the civil administration to launch extensive rescue operations in the deluge-hit Arun Chapori area of Dhemaji district.
The region has been reeling under severe inundation triggered by incessant rainfall and rapidly rising water levels.
Responding immediately to the escalating crisis, Army personnel mobilised resources to support the ongoing local relief efforts.
