India, June 14 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India has earned global recognition for operating the world's largest healthcare programme, highlighting the government's efforts to make quality healthcare accessible and affordable for millions of citizens across the country.

Speaking at a public event, the Prime Minister pointed to the success of the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), which provides health insurance coverage and medical treatment support to millions of beneficiaries.

He stated that the scheme has significantly reduced the financial burden of healthcare on poor and vulnerable families.
