India maps Ladakh features amid China border row
India, Oct. 3 -- India has formally recorded 28 places and landforms in Ladakh on Survey of India maps, a step the Government says is meant to fix their names in official records and make them easier for the public to recognise.
The Ministry of Home Affairs said on Friday that the list was prepared in coordination with the Union Territory administration. The places will now appear under standardised names on the official map of Ladakh. The exercise follows a similar move in August, when the Union Government standardised the names of 27 places and features in Arunachal Pradesh.
